The Opportunities:
DWER is looking to establish a talent pool within the Environmental Offsets Team, with two immediate vacancy positions to fill:
- 1 x permanent position in the Environmental Offsets team
- 1 x fixed‑term position (2 years, 4 months with possibility of extension or permanency) in the National Pollutant Inventory (NPI)/Environmental Offsets team

About the Roles:
- Senior Environmental Officer - Offset Services (Permanent)
This role provides specialist scientific, technical and policy advice relating to environmental offsets. It supports the development and implementation of offsets frameworks, contributes to reform initiatives, and engages with internal and external stakeholders to ensure environmental outcomes are achieved in line with legislative and policy requirements.
- Senior Environmental Officer - National Pollutant Inventory and Environmental Offsets (Fixed-Term)
This role contributes to the management of National Pollutant Inventory data, emissions estimation and reporting processes. It supports data integrity, systems improvement and analytical capability to inform regulatory and policy outcomes, working in collaboration with state and Commonwealth stakeholders.
In addition to the NPI requirements, the Senior Environmental Officer works with the Environmental Offsets Branch to leverage data and analytical capability in support of priority environmental offsets delivery and reform.
In accordance with the approved public sector salary adjustments, salary ranges will increase effective from 13 June 2026, as follows:
- For Specified Calling Level 3 (SCL3), the current salary range of $129,211 - $142,460 per annum will increase to $133,733– $147,446 per annum.
