The Opportunity:

This is a permanent full-time opportunity.

Are you passionate about ensuring transparency and upholding the right to access information? In this pivotal role, you will manage and process Freedom of Information (FOI) applications, ensuring compliance with the Freedom of Information Act 1992 and Freedom of Information Regulations 1993. This includes conducting thorough searches for relevant documents, assessing content, applying appropriate exemptions, and preparing draft decisions on behalf of the decision maker.

In addition to processing FOI applications, you'll raise agency awareness of FOI responsibilities, develop and implement effective information policies, processes and procedures and provide expert guidance on legislative requirements. As a leader, you'll mentor FOI staff, support decision-making, and champion consistency and compliance in all FOI matters. This position currently has one employee directly reporting to you, which may change to two direct reports in the future.
