The Opportunity: 

This is a full-time opportunity commencing 2 March 2026 until 30 June 2029, with the possibility of extension/permanency. 

The Science Data Branch is responsible for the efficient and effective management and delivery of the department’s water science data sets. The Branch stores, manages, and provides water data ensuring that the Department is recognised as a reliable source of water information and data of a known quality. 

This is a specialist technical role which requires expertise in the development of tools and data pipelines to pull together information from different source systems for the capture, management, and provision of science data. The position collaborates closely with both internal and external data users.

  2. Knowledge of, and experience in, the technical support of data management systems.
  3. Developed conceptual and analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to research and provide practical and innovative solutions to data management problems. 
  • Two (2) referees (one preferred to be a current supervisor or recent manager).
